Through trainings, workshops, storytelling, mentorship, and communities of practice; we build the skills and confidence people need to lead.

Roots Lab

Roots Lab is a strategic learning hub designed to equip people in frontline communities with skills and resources that strengthen their capacity to become confident community organizers. Through an interactive series of workshops and trainings held in online and offline formats, Roots Lab provides a space for grassroots actors to experiment, share real-world knowledge, and transform their vision into local action. Our modules focus on:

Campaign design: Equipping organizers to turn their vision into real-world power. By integrating strategic communication and community-rooted design, we help transform strategy and narrative into effective local action.

Strategic dialogue: Expanding movements beyond traditional circles. We support organizers to build new relationships and counter toxic narratives and disinformation.

Infrastructure: Strengthening social infrastructure through bolstering skills in organizational development, leadership, and project management for long-term success.

Emotional resilience: Weaving collective care and regenerative practices into the heart of organizing to safeguard groups and communities, fostering emotional resilience.

Creative storytelling

We support people to use voice, body, and imagination as tools for creative expression, reach new audiences and build connections across divides. Through theatre, art, and music, we work with groups to tell stories in ways that are culturally resonant and deeply felt.

This includes the Human LIVErary - an intimate, in-person storytelling gathering where participants become living books, and the audience their readers. Stories of loss, strength, and resilience are shared in this open and safe space, forging deep bonds between everyone in the room.
